No
matter what religion you believe in or even if you have
none, this is the time of the year that we are reminded
of our relationship to the Creator. Of course, there
is a lot of gift giving and eating and drinking and
wishing everyone to have a happy holiday, but that is
not what is really important, except maybe to the economy.
What is important is that the season causes us to pause
and reflect, albeit only in a cursory way perhaps, on
who and what we are.
It doesn't make any difference
if you are Christian, Jew, Moslem, Hindu, Buddhist,
or any other religious belief system or if you don't
even have one, we are all called upon to think a little
bit about ourselves and perhaps others. I have called
this article "The Holy Light Within", but
it could be called any other name and it would still
resonate with the light that is inside every one of
us.
When I do the prayers
of protection before every session I have with a client,
whether the session is in person or remote, I call upon
us to find the spark of the Creator's divine love within
ourselves which is at the spiritual center of our being.
This spark of light is real
it is the spark of
the Creator's love that created us in the beginning
and sustains us through lifetimes. This light is the
manifestation of our divinity as we have God the Creator
within each of us.
This light within us makes
us all brothers and sisters and unites us in the universal
love of our Creator. It is said that we are all created
in the image and likeness of our Creator. This is a
bit hard to believe for those of us who are suffering
physical, mental, emotional or spiritual maladies, but
it is probably true. If the Creator created something
as complex as man, then it probably did so as a reflection
of itself. Why not? If Creator put its divine light
and love in man, then it most likely did so out of love
for its creation and made man its mirror image. Love
is a very powerful force. It can heal us and transform
our lives. God did not cause the problems we bear. Our
problems result from our free will, which the Creator
gave each of us along with love and a spark of divinity.
We really are divine beings. At this time of the year,
we are reminded that we are so and reminded to see this
aspect of ourselves in every other person.
Therefore, this is a great
time to look within ourselves and find that spark of
light, focus on it and begin to see ourselves anew as
children of the Creator. When we do this, we can begin
to address the sources of the problems we have in life
and do something about them rather than to continue
to just wallow in self-destruction and misery and blaming
our problems on others or God. Let us find our light
this season and begin the task of fixing ourselves if
we are broken. We don't have to stay broken, because
everything can be fixed. That is part of us. Hypnotherapy
can help you get fixed.
